We at Deer Oaks understand the impact that COVID-19 has had not only on your residents, but also on your staff members. This has been an unprecedented time in our careers as providers in LTC settings, as it likely has been for you.

Stress and anxiety are common emotional reactions to an unpredictable event, but prolonged anxiety can have potentially negative long-term consequences. It is important that we all take the time to ensure we are engaging in self-care activities, not only for our own mental and physical health, but also to ensure that we can continue to be helpful to those depending on us.

We hope that you have been able to remain healthy and safe. We look forward to our continued working relationship and trust that we will come out stronger when this is over.

Deer Oaks would like to share the following presentation with you, “Helping Staff Manage Anxiety During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Supporting Your Staff in the Long-Term Care Setting.” Please consider sharing this information with your staff to assist with anxiety management. Additional self-care resources are listed at the end of the video that can be of assistance to staff members who may benefit from additional support.
