Dr. Aaron Brown, DO, serves as Chief Medical Officer at Deer Oaks – The Behavioral Health Solution, where he provides executive medical leadership for one of the nation’s largest behavioral health organizations dedicated exclusively to post-acute care settings. In his role, Dr. Brown collaborates with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to advance quality initiatives, clinical excellence, provider development, and evidence-based behavioral healthcare delivery across skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, memory care, and long-term care communities nationwide.
Dr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southern Methodist University before receiving his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He completed his Psychiatry Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident.
A psychiatrist with extensive experience serving older adults in post-acute care settings, Dr. Brown has dedicated his career to improving behavioral healthcare access and outcomes for aging and medically complex populations. His clinical expertise includes psychotropic medication management, dementia-related behavioral health conditions, serious mental illness, depression, anxiety, and interdisciplinary approaches to resident-centered care.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Brown leads organizational strategy related to psychiatric services, clinical quality, regulatory compliance, provider education, and healthcare innovation. He works closely with healthcare operators, physicians, psychologists, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary care teams to support high-quality behavioral healthcare and improved resident outcomes across the continuum of post-acute care.
Dr. Brown is passionate about advancing the role of behavioral health in post-acute care and supporting care teams in addressing the increasingly complex medical and psychiatric needs of older adults.
