Lisa Lind, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist and Chief Clinical Officer for Deer Oaks. She obtained her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from University of North Texas. She joined Deer Oaks in 2008 after co-owning a geriatric-focused private practice that included outpatient and nursing home based neuropsychological and psychological services. She was trained in neuropsychology and geriatric psychology in her doctoral program and completed a neuropsychology internship and post doc at the North Texas VA Healthcare System in Dallas, TX. Dr. Lind has also held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Trauma and Disaster Psychiatry, at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

She has published more than a dozen research articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics including death anxiety, elder abuse, assessment, trauma, measuring the use and cost of care, and spinal cord injury. In 2013, she was a co-recipient of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) Licht Award, which recognizes excellence in scientific writing in the area of rehabilitation medicine.

Dr. Lind serves as the Chief of Quality Assurance for Deer Oaks, where she provides leadership and oversight in decisions related to clinical service delivery and related quality assurance initiatives. She also provides clinical management and supervision of clinical services and staff to various service regions. Dr. Lind currently provides psychological assessment, neuropsychological assessment, consultation, and counseling services to residents in nursing/rehab and assisted living settings, focusing on a wide range of concerns, including grief and loss, end of life issues, depression, anxiety, psychosis, trauma, terminal illness, non-compliance issues, and behavioral/emotional sequelae of dementia.

Outside of Deer Oaks, Dr. Lind currently serves as the President of Psychologists in Long-Term Care (PLTC) and has co-authored “Psychologists in Long-Term Care (PLTC) Guidelines for Psychological and Behavioral Health Services in Long-Term Care Settings” which can be found in the Journal of Professional Psychology: Research and Practice.
